Method paper cited!

March 21st 2014

In science you get as excited for your first citation (meaning that someone actually read or at least read parts of your work) as the acceptance of the paper. Today I discovered that my paper is on the top news story at Cisbio's homepage. I discovered this because someone has been researching the HTRF technology and now contacted us for useful discussion. Always happy to help!

Soon vacation!

March 9th 2014

Only 20 more days until I leave Copenhagen (which is finally getting warmer and more sunny) for a GPCR conference as well as roadtrip with the girls! However, before vacation you always have so much stuff to do. I think this comic describes it pretty well...

Science Breaking News!

March 7th 2014

Finally the science community got it's crystal stucture of a class C GPCR. This means that now we actually know how an important part (the seven transmembrane (7TM) domain) of the metabotropic glutamate receptor type 1 looks like!

Since I'm also working on a class C receptor I'm thrilled to have these news. Even though I'm not a computer scientist or a modeller I realise the importance it has for my project. We have been using other types of receptors to make a model of our target, GPRC6A. Then we have used this model to try and predict where some allosteric compounds bind. However, this model is probably not the best one and can now be made better thanks to Ray Stevens and his group at The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA.

Finally published online!

February 13th 2014

Finally the method paper I've been working on since the summer 2012 got published.

You can read all about it here
